I had so much fun; Chinatown is such a rich environment to take photographs. Also it was very interesting to hear and try to apply Jun?s approach to photography. All in all it was a morning well spent.

Very enjoyable opportunity to learn the philosophy of photography. It helps you understand how you view an object, landscape, flower, etc., based on your desire with regards to the photography you are taking. Jun Tagai was a wonderful instructor, and I hope to get the opportunity to gain more knowledge and one-on-one instruction with Jun in the future.

It was a lot of fun taking pictures of in a new space and meeting other club members. I really enjoyed hearing the history of the area! The instructor made some good suggestions about different things to look for, different ways of looking at the mundane, and suggestions for how and when to just get out and take pictures.

Loved the class! Dylan worked with each person at their level. Manoa Falls is a good location. So many opportunities to get different shots. Macro of a leaf, big wide shots, flowers, slow shutter speed of waterfalls!

After a stretch of cold and gloomy weather, the day (2/12) suddenly turned out great and was the best excuse to go out for a much needed walk and shutter therapy. I was excited to try some settings for straight-out-of-camera images in a spot I've never been. Checked the time and my bearing and decided to wait for the sunset, hoping it works out. Was pleasantly surprised to say the least and I'm very happy others like it.

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
